Tell Congress: Hold Israel accountable for their online misinformation campaign

Reports reveal the Israeli government has been running a secret online misinformation campaign since October 2023 in an attempt to sway U.S. public opinion and influence lawmakers to keep funding their military.

According to reports from The New York Times and Haaretz, the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs spent $2 million since October to create fake news websites and social media accounts and used OpenAI and ChatGPT to create Islamophobic, anti-Palestinian, and pro-war content. The accounts especially targeted Black Democratic lawmakers.

This is a dangerous campaign of lies and misinformation carried out by a foreign government. And it’s all the more disturbing that it's happening while the U.S. continues to provide Israel’s military with billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded weapons and bombs used to carry out genocide.

I urge you to take action in Congress to hold the Israeli government accountable for their targeted online misinformation campaign against the United States, just like we did when Russia meddled in our elections.
